The Lutheran Medical Center Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Sciences offer the Brooklyn community a variety of behavioral health and substance-abuse services. LGBTQ-friendly.

Inpatient Services Include:
- A 35-bed, Acute Care Psychiatric Unit: Provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment for individuals suffering from psychiatric disorders
- Psychiatric Consultation: Provided by experienced psychiatrists on all medical units of the hospital, available upon request
- Referrals to Longer-term or Residential Care

Emergency Services Include:
- Psychiatric/Behavioral Health Service Emergency Room: Located within the hospital and near the Medical Emergency Room, it is open to the community 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week
- A Psychiatrist and Registered Nurse Always on Duty for Emergency Evaluation and Care

Outpatient Services Include:
- A Comprehensive Continuum of Mental Health and Substance-abuse Services at Lutheran Family Health Centers Sunset Terrace: Offers individual and group adult and child therapies, couples and family counseling, psychiatric evaluation and medication management
- Healthy Connections Program at Lutheran Family Health Centers Family Support Center: Offers education, counseling and outreach services to anyone in the community experiencing continuing effects of the tragedy
- School based behavioral health in 28 local schools
- Community Medicine Program behavioral health services in shelters
